טַרְחוּת, טִירְ׳f. 1) same. Y.Ber.II, 5a bot. טַרְחוּתָם מרובה the trouble of climbing them down is very great. Pesik. Bayom, p. 193a> ט׳ הדרכים the trouble of travelling. Cant. R. to VIII, 6 שהגשמים … סימן טיר׳ for there are those rains which betoken trouble Pesik. Shek. p. 20b>; Pesik. R. s. 16 end; Ex. R. s. 34 אין הק״בה בא בט׳וכ׳ the Lord comes not with burdensome laws to be imposed upon 2) necessaries of life, living. Lev. R. s. 1 משה עסוק בט׳וכ׳ Moses occupied himself with arranging the living of Israel (ordaining dietary laws). Gen. R. s. 94 ט׳ נפש אחת provision for one soul. Pesik. R. s. 3 (ref. to מתה עלי, Gen. 48:7) עלי היתה טַרְחוּתָהּ mine was the care for her.
